Marussia Formula 1 Cars to be Auctioned Off

Shortly after the Formula 1 team Marussia went into administration they announced that their F1 cars and equipment would be going up for auction.

The highlight of the auction will be the Marussia F1 cars themselves, the cars will be sold without the engine as these had to be returned to Ferrari. The cars will go to auction on the 16th and 17th December. Other goodies up for auction will be the trucks, tools and accessories the team used.

Sadly Marussia missed the last 3 race meetings of the season and they were also forced to later close their offices and factories sending their 200 strong workforce home. 2014 certainly is a bad year for Marussia, and F1 as a whole with these events following the terrible crash for Jules Bianchi, which has left him badly injured.

F1, as we are all aware, is an expensive game to play, I fear that more teams could follow Caterham and Marussia unless the FIA look at addressing financial caps and standardisation within the industry.
