BMW have just revised the Competition pack for the M6 Coupe, M6 Gran Coupé and M6 Convertible. As you would expect the new update brings more power, more torque and improvements to the 0-60mph times.
The tweaks to the 4.4 litre V8 petrol engine have added a further 25bhp making the grand total 592bhp. The torque has increased by 15lb/ft to a new peak of 516lb/ft, and from 1500rpm to 5000rpm. This is one serious performance car.
BMW M6 Competition Package – Power Improvements
The M divsion at BMW say that the 0-62mph time of the M6 is now down to 4 seconds flat. Scraping another 0.3 seconds off the standard time, which can make all the difference. Further up the speedometer BMW also say they have decreased the 0-124mph time by 0.6sec compared with the previous package, at 11.8 seconds. Lastly the top speed is limited to 155mph but can be raised to 189mph with the addition of an M Driver’s Package.
Handling Improvements
The handling improvements on the car include firmer springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, changes in the calibration of the Active M Differential and dynamic stability control and more direct mapping for the electro-mechanical steering.
