Jenson Button, McLaren Grand Prix driver, has bought a McLaren P1 hybrid hypercar. The 2009 F1 World Champion has owned McLarens, staying loyal to the brand of his race team, since 2011.
We all know the P1 is a very expensive car, but with an price tag of £1 million this would have been no bother for Button who topped the The Times Rich List for UK sportsmen with an estimated worth of £63 million, ahead of all those pesky footballers.
Jenson Button’s Garage
In 2011 Button had his first McLaren, a MP4-12C. But the McLaren wasn’t the only car in his garage, he also had a 1978 Ferrari 512 BB, a Mercedes C-class DR 520, Bugatti Veyron and Nissan GT-R.
Button has been seen on the road in a selection of McLarens over the years, we can only assume these are just loans or cars he has borrowed off the F1 boss.
McLaren Specs
As a reminder, the plug-in hybrid McLaren P1 has 727bhp and 719Nm from a 3.8 twin turbo V8, followed up by the 176bhp and 260Nm electric motor. Combined, this makes a ridiculous 903bhp and 978Nm and will do 0-60mph in around 2.8 seconds
Do you think Button will find the McLaren P1 a challenge to drive compared to his F1 car?
