The guys at Audi have revealed the 3rd incarnation of its Prologue series of concept cars. This was done ahead of the Shanghai Motor Show in China.
The plug-in hybrid Audi Prologue Allroad has a raised body, which I think we may see in the future models of the road going A6 Allroad. The 3rd concept model follows the two other cars that were released at the Los Angeles Motor Show and Geneva Motor Show.
Audi Prologue Concept Performance Figures
Under the bonnet there is a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, with an electric motor integrated into an eight-speed gearbox, meaning that altogether the car produces 724bhp to the quattro all-wheel drive system. The car will therefore do 0-60mph in around 3.5 seconds, and has a pure electric range of 31miles.
One of the great features of this car is the new sports 22-inch wheels tucked under flared arches. For me these wheels make the car. They certainly look incredible on the concept car, and I would love to see something like this on the future road going versions if possible.
The Next A6 Allroad – 2017
The V8 Audi Prologue concept should boil down to be the basis for the next A6 Allroad, but we guess it will be toned down and have significantly less power. We can expect to see the road going version in around 2017.
