Lamborghini Components
The Audi R8, as ever, shares its components with Lamborghini, more specifically the new Lamborghini Huracan. The 2016 R8 will be sold as a 4-wheel drive V10 Model with a double clutch gearbox. There will not be a manual gearbox; and we’re not sure yet if there will be a v8 engine available in the future.
V10 or the V10 Plus?
From day one there will be 2 variants available the V10 and the V10 Plus. The Plus model has a fixed rear wing looking similar to the one used on the R8 GT. The demonstrated model was in camoflage, so we may see more improvements to the exterior of the car when it is released at the Geneva motor show in March.
0-60mph in 3.2 Seconds
The V10 engine will be a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated engine with 540bhp. The V10 Plus will get the same size engine but a few tweaks to get 610bhp from it. This means that the plus model will get from 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds. We can’t wait to see this car first hand.
