Be the First to see Pictures of Jaguar's SUV, Called the 'F-PACE'

Jaguar have released information about their first ever SUV, which they are calling a performance crossover. It will be called the Jaguar F-PACE and will be put into production in 2016. The performance crossover branding is the marketing term that is going to help Jaguar distance the SUV from its sister company Land Rover.

We have just got our hands on the latest pictures of the new Jaguar F-PACE with a little help from Auto Express. The pictures are great at this stage of release, we can see the overall design of the car. Straight from the off I’m very happy with the look of the car and can’t wait for it to make it to production.

Not to far of the Original Concept Car

If you remember a few years back, Jaguar gave us the C-X17 concept which actually doesn’t look to different to the F-PACE. I love it when cars are true to their concepts, quite often all the design features just get dulled down and washed away.

“We received such an overwhelmingly positive response to the C-X17 concept car last year that we just had to make it a reality” Ian Callum, Jaguar’s Director of Design

“The Jaguar F-PACE, inspired by the F-TYPE, represents a perfectly judged balance of style, performance and practicality. It offers a unique combination of Jaguar sports car inspired exterior design, fused beautifully with a thoroughly practical and spacious luxury interior. The F-PACE is our family sports car.”

Tech Specs

Full tech specs of the car won’t be released until later this year. From what we can tell so far the F-PACE will be slightly bigger than the  Audi Q5 and BMW X3.  Jaguar say it will have class-leading interior space as well as “a beautiful design, precise handling, a supple ride, luxurious interior finishes and cutting-edge technology”. It sounds good to me.

We expect prices to start at around £30,000 with a selection of different engines. There is likely to be a 2.0-litre turbo diesel, 2.0 turbo petrol and supercharged 3.0-litre V6. Hopefully further down the line a large surcharged V8 model may become available.
