Furtive-eGT at the Salute to Style
The Furtive-eGT will appear as a static exhibit at the event held at the Hurlingham Club in south-west London from 16-19 July. The four-seat grand tourer is powered by two Siemens-sourced 148kW electric motors which are centrally mounted and mated to a three-speed transmission. Together they produce the equivalent of 396bhp at between 5000 and 10,000 rpm and 381lb ft of torque from 0 to 5000rpm. The manufacturer, which is based at the Magny-Cours race circuit in southern France, claims the car can accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.5sec and go on to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
The Furtive-eGT’s bespoke rear-wheel-drive running gear has been developed by Exagon in cooperation with technology company SAFT, which has provided lithium-ion batteries, and Michelin which has contributed axles and tyres. Exagon says it has adopted Formula One technology to develop a carbonfibre honeycomb tub which is mated to a cast aluminium rear structure. The entire body only weighs 124kg and is said it offers an exceptional weight-to-stiffness ratio Exagon Motors is a division of Exagon Engineering, a French racing and preparation company founded by director Luc Marchetti in 2004.
Marchetti said: “We have the same approach as jewel-makers to high-end manufacturing and bespoke craftsmanship. France has a unique focus on virtuosity and creativity when producing works of art. “Every Furtive-eGT made so far has been created specially for its owner, and leading designers have penned each one according to the individual’s interpretation.”
