Introducing the all new Corvette Z06, one of the major highlights of the 2014 Detroit Motor Show.
Made primarily of aluminum and composites and fitted with a 6.2-litre supercharged V8, putting out around 625bhp and 635 lb/ft of torque, it uses the same direct injection and cylinder deactivation technology as the Stingray. There is no doubt that this Corvette could do some damage in a straight line.
Said to be the most circuit capable Corvette ever, the Z06 apparently comes with ‘world class’ braking, grip, and downforce. The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres shown in the teaser image will be part of a performance pack that also includes Brembo carbon ceramics (394mm at the front, 388mm at the rear).
Not fogetting the the aero tweaks; as standard, the Z06 gets a unique front splitter, spats around the front wheel arches, and the rear wing from the Stingray Z51 package. You will also notice in the pictures the revised intakes for the brakes and engine.
