Seven months after the production-spec McLaren P1 was released at the Geneva Motor Show 2013 in March this year, production of the very first customer cars have now begun.
Overall, 375 road going versions of the British-built hypercar will be produced, with prices starting from the wallet damaging £866,000. After the initial purchase McLaren Special Operations division can customise it in every way to help you round off the figure off to £1,000,000 if you desire.
The P1 is powered by a monstrous 727bhp 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, with a supplementary 176bhp coming from an electric motor. This car is going be a complete animal on the road. I need to work my way in to the driving seat of this car, as it looks to be a legend in the making.
Once the production process is fully in motion, one complete P1 will be finished each day, making every day a good day for us car fans. A bespoke viewing suite has been put in place on the production line, to allow customers to watch their car being completed.
I cant wait until all 375 are made and on the road for us to enjoy!
