Mansory Designed Mercedes-Benz SLR Renovatio

We have recently spotted a Maserati and Ferrari dealership over in Germany that is advertising a very rare Mansory SLR Renovatio. The tuned Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is £180,000. It has only done 15,500 miles and is in generally good condition, from what we can see from the images.

The SLR is in a sports silver finish with carbon fibre details on both the interior and exterior. Powering the supercar is a supercharged 5.4-litre V8 engine, with an output of 626bhp and 780Nm of torque. The engine is all standard, but there has been a significant weight reduction taken place on the Mansory designed model and it also had a tuned sports exhaust. The car can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, which is two tenths of a second quicker than the regular production version.

Schumacher 'Responding to voices and making Eye-contact'

Michael Schumacher is responding to voices and making eye-contact according to latest reports. The F1 legend’s manager, Sabine Kehm, revealed the promising news that Schumacher is now having “moments of consciousness and awakening”. After a worrying three month coma,  The news cheered the F1 paddock in Bahrain, but now there are apparently even more signs of improvement in the former Ferrari and Mercedes driver’s previously life-threatening brain injuries.

Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Schumacher is making encouraging eye movements, while Germany’s Bild am Sonntag newspaper claims the great 45-year-old German is even responding to voices. Family friend Jean Alesi, a former F1 driver, has visited Schumacher several times in hospital, and he is now much more optimistic about the future. ”First, Michael responded only to pain, when he was pinched for example,” he is quoted by Speed Week. “But that can also be an unconscious reaction of the body.

“It is fabulous…”

“During my last visit I realised that something was beginning to change for the better. I felt with the family some relief, a great joy about how things were developing. ”It is fabulous,” the Frenchman claimed, “even though the path back to life is still long.”

Felipe Massa, a former Ferrari teammate of Schumacher’s and another close friend, seemed to confirm that the seven time world champion is now responding to voices. ”I cannot really put into words how excited I am about it,” the Brazilian admitted in Bahrain. ”I prayed every day for Michael and they were answered. Now I hope to continue to hear good news from Grenoble,” Massa added.

McLaren 12C Officially Discontinued

There has been lots of rumours on the internet about the cease in production of the McLaren 12C. Yesterday it was officially announced that the model will be entirely phased out.

This news follows around a month after the release of the similar positioned 650S. McLaren have made things clear that they would like to focus on its recent products, the 650S Coupe and Spider, which are actually great replacements for the 12C.

The news was released by a letter that was sent to all McLaren 12C owners. The letter advised owners that the range was being discontinued, and also made them aware of a technology upgrade package available for the 12C starting in June.  This technology upgrade will enable Active Aero Software for the car to control air braking, and also a Drag Reduction System (DRS), which is a nice bonus!

A statement from McLaren informs us that they have had a great uptake for the 650S in both the Coupe and Spider models and this will keep them busy for the next 6 months.

This is one of the revolutionary cars of the modern day. It’s striking to look at, blisteringly fast, and one of the best cars to produced from Lamborghini’s Italian factory. The car has been massively successful and has been sold all over the world. Here we can see a Nero black example complete with black wheels, that give the car a great stealth look.

For those of you that don’t know, the Aventador features a 6.5 litre V12 engine which produces 700bhp and 690Nm of torque. The Lamborghini has a thrust mode (launch control) that gets the car to 60 in 2.9 seconds, and can pull 1.3G. What a car!

Aston Martin Plan to Win The Nürburgring 24 Hour Race

This year Aston Martin will be coming back to the Nürburgring 24 Hour endurance race with an impressive 2014 spec V12 Vantage GT3. The 2014 race will be the British carmaker’s 9th consecutive attempt at the gruelling race in Germany’s Eifel Forest, and the third using its V12 Vantage GT3.

Last year Aston Martin lead for most of the race but sadly finished 10th. This year the team have high hopes of winning the race!

We made it clear in 2012 that we have a five-year plan to be in a position to challenge for the win at Nürburgring 24 Hours

John Gaw, the head of Aston Martin’s motorsport division at Aston Martin Racing.

The drivers of the car will be Darren Turner, Stefan Mücke, and Pedro Lamy. Lamy is a former Formula One driver for Lotus and Minardi.

Demonstration of Reliability and Performance

A private team called Leonard Motorsport have also entered a V12 Vantage GT3 in the race this year, and Aston Martin will also be entering a handful of production-based ‘engineering cars’ in the race.

This continues Aston Martin’s long-term strategy of entering lightly modified production cars for the ultimate demonstration of reliability and performance, and the team will be seeking to preserve its 100 percent finishing record.

The 2014 Nürburgring 24 Hour endurance race runs from June 21-22. Good luck Aston Martin.

Project F - It's a Ferrari 458, but Better!

Pininfarina stunned the world back in 2006 when it revealed the P4/5 supercar commissioned by James Glickenhaus. It featured a bespoke bodywork surrounding, and a Ferrari Enzo at the core.

Now we see Project F from a Dutch design firm Ugur Sahin Design. The concept is based on a Ferrari 458, and they have then completely redesigned the external details of the car. So far, Ugur Sahin haven’t built or sold a single car yet. But they have all the knowledge and tools to make this dream car a reality.

In the past, Ugur Sahin has built a couple of Corvette based cars, called the Soleil Anandi, and Corvette Z03.

A mixture of great designs

The design itself, appears to mix elements from a number of supercars. The front bumper looks similar to the one on the Porsche 918 Spyder, the wraparound windscreen looks like it’s straight from a Koenigsegg, and at the rear looks similar to a LaFerrari.

The Ferrari 458 is exciting in normal form, but Ugur Sahin have taken the design to the edge…and then a bit further.
